Vintage car rally in Delhi

Vintage car rally in Delhi

Politicians were present at this car rally to promote the cause of road safety

Politicians recently came together to promote the cause of road safety at the JK Tyre Constitution Club of India Parliamentarian Car Rally, which was organised recently in the Capital. Gracing the occasion was the Vice President of India, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, along with Raghupati Singhania, vice-chairman and managing director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited, who flagged off the event along with other politicians who included Sachin Pilot, Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
Jitendra Singh, minister of youth affairs and sports, told us, “I’m an automobile engineer, hence I am crazy about cars. Besides, I have been a national shooter, hence any event related to sports is very close to my heart.” He stressed on the importance of safe driving, “It’s all the more interesting to attend events which are organised for a cause and this car rally delivers a strong message regarding safe driving on Delhi roads. I think such events should be organised not only in Metros but in small cities, too.”
Speaking at the occasion, Singhania, said, “Parliamentarians spend about 80% of their time travelling on the road and are always on the move. Hence, it was important that we involve them in this rally. In the past, we
have lost leaders like Rajesh Pilot, Sahib Singh Verma, Yerran Naidu, Dayanand Sahay, Mahendra Singh Bhati and Munawwar Hasan in road accidents. Our endeavour is to change the mindset of the people and create awareness about road safety.”
